Animal Assisted Therapy Programs of Colorado is a nonprofit counseling and training organization with the specialization in Animal Assisted Psychotherapy. Through our counseling and training programs, we provide and promote animal assisted psychotherapy with rescued animals to facilitate healing for all people in need. AATPC provides training and Certification in Animal Assisted Therapy and Psychotherapy that meets the Competencies defined by the American Counseling Association (ACA). Our training opportunities are designed for professionals and students in the Human Services fields including: Psychotherapists, social workers, counselors and psychiatrists. Our Training Goal is to advance the field of Animal Assisted Psychotherapy by training qualified mental health professionals in the ethical and humane integration of animals into the therapeutic setting.
